On the Sunday after Easter, the Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday, a reminder of the endless mercy flowing from the Heart of Jesus. In the Gospel, Jesus appears to His disciples, shows them His wounds, and offers them peace, revealing that His mercy is for all.
One beautiful way to enter into this mercy is by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Given to St. Faustina, this prayer invites us to meditate on Christ’s Passion while asking God’s mercy upon us and the whole world.
The Church also encourages devotion to the Hour of Mercy at 3 p.m., the hour of Jesus’ death, when we pause to remember His Passion and entrust ourselves to His mercy.
Jesus told St. Faustina, “The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy.” No matter where we are, we are invited to trust in Him, return to Him, and receive His grace, especially in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
We invite you to make the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Hour of Mercy part of your prayer life. Below, you will find videos that explain how to pray the chaplet, along with versions prayed in both song and spoken form.
It's also one of the many devotions included in the Hallow app - with which St. Joan of Arc is a parish partner. Learn more here.Jesus, I trust in You.
